INTRODUCTION: BY Arvind R Patel, CHBOne of the chief requirements of the householder is that he be hospitable toward all who come to him. Even in the houses of the poor in many Indian village it is an unwritten law that, whatever the condition of his house, the host will always hasten to provide for his guest the best of which he is capable. It should also be borne in mind that this hospitality consists, not in furnishing all sorts of amusements, but simply such bare necessities as food, shelter and clothing, and that these are extended to relatives, friends and strangers alike. Translated from India's ancient literature by EMMONS E. WHITE. Moral maxim of this respect providing the backdrop for a living standard that would become such as the world has never seen, would be the thousands of enterprises that make up America's lodging community; the backbone of these being what we now call ' Mom and Pop Entrepreneurs.' After nineteen years in hotel brokerage, in the United States, Canada, Mexico and United Kingdom I have arrived at the conclusion that the game is same no matter what the location. Whether selling hotel, motel or inn it is the hotel broker, who is truly a professional, that leads the sellers and buyers in securing hotel transactions with desirable bottom line and self-realization. It is my sincere hope that this site will be a great benefit to you as you move toward next step up in hospitality industry.
